If you live in Hermitage, your week probably runs on I-40, Lebanon Pike and Old Hickory Blvd. I'm Dustin Rodgers with Rodgers Insurance Agency, and my office sits just across the Davidson–Wilson county line on Providence Pkwy in Mt. Juliet. A lot of the folks I help in Hermitage drive into Nashville every day, park at Hermitage Station for the WeGo Star, or take a boat out on Percy Priest Lake on the weekend. Whatever your routine looks like, I'll help you understand what your auto policy actually covers, so there are fewer surprises when you need it.

Coverage Built Around a Hermitage Commute

Commuter traffic shapes most of the conversations I have with Hermitage drivers. Here's what each coverage can do:

Collision

Can help pay to repair or replace your vehicle after a covered collision, including the stop-and-go fender benders that happen on busy commuter corridors.

Liability

Can help pay for others' injuries and property damage when you're at fault in a covered accident. Tennessee requires it, and many drivers choose limits above the minimum.

Rental car coverage

Can help with transportation costs while your car is in the shop after a covered claim, which matters when you can't miss work.

Uninsured and underinsured motorist

Can help when the at-fault driver has little or no insurance.

Comprehensive

Can help with covered non-collision losses such as theft, vandalism, hail, fire or falling objects.

Medical payments

Can help with medical bills for you and your passengers after a covered accident.

Roadside assistance

Can help with towing, flat tires, lockouts and jump-starts.

Coverage availability, limits and terms vary by policy. Ask me what makes sense for your vehicles and your commute.

When Your Driving Changes, Your Policy Can Too

Hermitage routines shift a lot: a new hybrid work schedule, switching to the WeGo Star, adding a teen driver or buying a boat. Any of those is a good time to give me a call. Depending on your situation, options like these may be available:

  • Bundling auto with home, condo or renters coverage
  • Insuring more than one vehicle together
  • Safe-driving and good-student programs
  • Vehicle safety features
  • Payment and paperless options

Discounts and coverages are subject to eligibility, may vary by state, and are not available on every policy.

Getting Around Hermitage

Hermitage is part of Metro Nashville in eastern Davidson County, with Old Hickory to the north, Donelson to the west, the Wilson County line to the east and Percy Priest Lake to the south. I-40 carries much of the area's commuter traffic, with an interchange at Old Hickory Blvd (exit 221), while Lebanon Pike (US-70) and Old Hickory Blvd handle local trips and shopping.

Central Pike (SR-265) starts in Hermitage and runs east into Wilson County toward Mt. Juliet. Andrew Jackson Pkwy leads to Hermitage Station, the WeGo Star stop with park-and-ride parking for riders heading downtown.

Weekends bring their own traffic: visitors headed to The Hermitage, Andrew Jackson's historic home; boaters heading to Percy Priest Lake and Long Hunter State Park; and families on their way to the Stones River Greenway. If you own a boat, we can review your boat coverage along with your auto policy.

Hermitage and Nearby Areas I Serve

I work with drivers in Hermitage (37076), Old Hickory, Donelson and the rest of eastern Davidson County, plus Mt. Juliet and Wilson County next door.

Tennessee requirements

Tennessee's Financial Responsibility Law requires minimum liability limits of $25,000 per person for injury or death, $50,000 per accident for total injury or death, and $25,000 per accident for property damage. Source: Tennessee Department of Revenue, tn.gov. If you finance or lease, your lender may also require collision and comprehensive.

Kind words from clients mean a lot to our team. See what people have shared, or tell us about your own experience.

“Dustin always makes sure I have all the needed coverage in the most cost-effective way. He reviews my policies at least annually and will move me to another company if it saves me money. He is helpful and supportive when I’ve had to make claims in stressful situations. Excellent agent.”

“I've been insured through Dustin for years. Recently was involved in an accident and though the accident itself was terrible, I was met with so much kindness and responsiveness, especially by Marjorie. Marjorie, Thomas, and Dustin were all quick to respond, answer questions, and walk me through the entire process. What otherwise could have been a very stressful ordeal, was seamless and I'm so thankful for what they do.”

“Fantastic!!!! Relocated to TN from IL. Our Agents office referred us to Dustin. When I called to have an initial discussion regarding dual households, his staff member was friendly, helpful and calming. We have a lot of moving parts. Dustin took my call right away. Walked me through options, assisted with setting us up with a policy for immediate needs. Great introduction, looking forward to Dustin and his Team being our new agent. Thank you!”
Paul K., Google review
“Dustin was wonderful to work with. He was very helpful, patient, and understanding throughout our many-month home buying process, which included multiple attempts before we finally closed on "the one." He really helped us to make the best decision for our family and financial investment on a property located in a flood zone that we ended up cancelling. Dustin, along with everyone in his office, is always professional, friendly, and responsive, and we feel confident that he will work hard for us if we ever need to file a claim.”

Questions Hermitage Drivers Ask

Can an agent in Mt. Juliet help me if I live in Hermitage?

Absolutely. My office is at 1982 Providence Pkwy, Ste 257, in Mt. Juliet, just east of Hermitage on I-40. I work with drivers across eastern Davidson County, including Hermitage. Most of the work happens by phone or email, and you're always welcome to meet in person during office hours.

Hermitage is in Davidson County. Does that change anything about my policy?

Tennessee's legal requirements are the same statewide, so the minimum coverage rules don't change at the county line. Where your car is kept is one of several factors an insurance company may consider, so I'll ask for your Hermitage address when we put your quote together.

Which coverages do daily I-40 commuters usually review?

Commuters often focus on liability limits, collision, rental car coverage and uninsured motorist coverage. Stop-and-go traffic and long days away from home make each one worth understanding. We can go through them one at a time and pick what fits your car, your routine and your budget.

I started riding the WeGo Star from Hermitage Station. Should I let you know?

Yes, please do. Changes in how much and how often you drive are worth noting on your policy. Give me a call, tell me what your new routine looks like, and we'll review whether your current coverage still fits the way you get around now.

What's the difference between collision and comprehensive?

Collision can help pay for your car's damage after a covered crash with another vehicle or object. Comprehensive can help with covered losses that aren't collisions, like theft, vandalism, hail, fire or a falling tree limb. Many drivers carry both, and lenders often require them on financed cars.

What does rental car coverage do?

Rental car coverage can help pay for a rental or other transportation while your car is being repaired after a covered claim. For Hermitage commuters who can't miss work, it's often worth a look. It's optional, and limits vary, so I'll explain what's included before you add it.

Is Tennessee's minimum liability coverage enough?

Tennessee requires at least $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident for bodily injury, plus $25,000 for property damage. That keeps you legal, but a serious accident can cost more than those limits. Many drivers choose higher limits, and I'm happy to walk you through the options.

How do I start a quote?

Call my office at 615-562-5100 or use the quote form on this page. Have your driver's license, your vehicle's VIN and your current policy ready to make it quick. We're here Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, and we'll follow up as soon as we can.
